by Gaubert
Madrigal was written by Philippe Gaubert, which he composed in 1908 as part of his Op. 9 and dedicated to Docteur Bucquoy. Madrigal is a lyrical piece for flute and piano in the French late-Romantic style and belongs to the core repertoire of the Paris Conservatoire–influenced French Flute School. It is a popular recital and teaching piece for flautists and is frequently recorded alongside Gaubert’s sonatas and other works for flute and piano.
