by Tool
The Pot was written by Tool, released in 2006 as a track on their fourth studio album 10,000 Days. The Pot is an alternative and progressive metal song credited to band members Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor, Adam Jones and Maynard James Keenan, whose lyrics address hypocrisy and take their title from the idiom “the pot calling the kettle black.” Issued as a promotional single, it became Tool’s first song to reach number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart in 2007 and remains one of their most popular and frequently discussed tracks.
