Learning a musical instrument is a great activity for children. Kids’ music is pieces which are written for children, and therefore contain simple melodies, a basic harmonic structure, and are catchy, nice tunes to play. Many kids’ songs are based on folk or traditional melodies, such as Oh Danny Boy (a traditional Irish tune), while others are more modern nursery rhymes, like Yankee Doodle and The Wheels on the Bus.
Tomplay offers a selection of kids’ songs for different instruments, from traditional pieces like Itsy Bitsy Spider to classical music works adapted for children, such as Cradle Song, Opus 49 by Johannes Brahms. Play these pieces solo or use the many available teacher-student duets: the teacher provides the accompaniment while the student plays the melody. The audio tracks are included, so students can practice at home. Some kids sheet music also includes an on-screen instrument and finger annotations, which are useful tools for children when learning a piece of music.
