Yiruma is a South Korean pianist and composer who began learning the piano at only 5 years old. Since graduating from King's College London, his international career has exploded and he continues to write beautiful music for solo piano or in collaboration with K-Pop artists. He has greatly contributed to making classical music more accessible to all, especially the younger generation.

River Flows In You was one of his first compositions, and to this day remains his most popular piece. The structure of the piece is more like a pop song as it has a ‘chorus’, the opening theme, and ‘verses’, the other parts of the piece. It is a very clear example of Yiruma’s neoclassical style.
