Christmas Sheet Music
About Christmas
Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year. Snow, gifts and time with loved ones, this holiday period is filled with joy and happiness. For many, a great way to celebrate it is with Christmas carols and Christmas songs. Christmas music is available in a wide variety of genres from classical and traditional music to pop and jazz hits. The aim is always the same though: to spread joy and goodwill at this beautiful time of year!
The origins of Christmas music dates back centuries and involved the use of hymns like Entre le bœuf et l’âne gris (13th century) and the Boar’s Head Carol (15th century). By the turn of the 19th century, Christmas carols were being used widely and in fact many of the songs we sing today are from this period (e.g. Silent Night, 1818).
Many classical composers wrote Christmas sheet music. For example, Johann Sebastian Bach wrote a Christmas Oratorio (1734) while Arcangelo Corelli wrote a Christmas Concerto in 1690. Modern Christmas tunes include The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole and All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey.
Tomplay offers a wide selection of Christmas sheet music for various instruments and levels, so everyone can help spread some Christmas cheer! Our arrangements are available for solo instruments, as well as with the audio accompaniments.
