Halloween, or All Hallows’ Eve, is a fantastic event of the year filled with ghosts, ghouls and trick or treating. Its origins lie in the fact that it is held on the 31st of October, the day before All Saint’s Day (a day to commemorate named saints). However, it is a largely non-religious festival.
Music is a great way to create an ambience around this fun day. Halloween music comes in many forms: there’s classical music that is built upon intense and dark harmonies, such as Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata or Gounod’s Funeral March of a Marionette. Modern tunes tend to be more obvious, such as the Ghostbusters theme song and I Put a Spell on You by Nina Simone. Either way, this music gives you chills!
Tomplay has a selection of Halloween sheet music for all instruments and levels, including pieces like La Valse des Monstres by Yann Tiersen and the Ghostbusters theme song. Play accompanied by the backing track or the orchestra.
