Information about the piece |
Amazing Grace is a Christian hymn which was first published in 1779. John Newton, an English poet, wrote the lyrics for the song 7 years earlier in 1772. Over the centuries, it has become more and more popular and is now used in both religious and secular settings. The song version we know today, and which is most frequently performed, was written in 1835 by American composer William Walker. In the 1960s, the hymn became an anthem for the civil rights movement in the United States, as a symbol of fighting against all forms of social injustice. The song has a beautiful and powerful melody. Play the piano sheet music for Amazing Grace, set at an easy level. This arrangement is the accompaniment piano part, to be played with the violin. |
