Information about the piece |
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) is one of the most influential composers of all time. Although he was a classical composer, he greatly influenced the Romantic period (1830-1900). Along with orchestral music, Beethoven wrote many pieces for solo piano and chamber music with piano. Für Elise was written in 1810, but only discovered and published forty years after the composer's death in 1867. The piece is a rondo, which involves a main theme alternating with contrasting themes. The form of Für Elise is A-B-A-C-A, with A being the main theme. The piano sheet music has a 3/8 time signature and involves a conversation between the right and left hands.
