John Williams has written incredible music for big films, and he is one of few composers who has manged to write works which are just as important as the films themselves. Since the early 1970s, he has been a huge success in the film world and over the course of his long career, he has written a myriad of iconic themes. His music has surpassed what previous composers could do, and film fans and non-film fans alike adore his work.
The music of John Williams is so powerful that each piece evokes an image for the listener. For example, for the Star Wars films his music immediately conjures up the image of the opening credits. With The Imperial March, we can see the legendary villain Darth Vader as he storms down the hallway of a spaceship, surrounded by stormtroopers. For the Jurassic Park theme tune, it evokes the image of many different species of dinosaurs as they wander the planet.
John Williams has written music for many iconic movie scenes…there are too many to count! This is unsurprising though, given he has regularly worked with Hollywood legends, such as Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and even Alfred Hitchcock!
