by Cream
Crossroads was written by Robert Johnson, originally recorded in 1936 under the title Cross Road Blues. Crossroads is the title used by Cream for their live electric‑blues rock version of Robert Johnson’s Delta blues song Cross Road Blues, which they interpreted with Eric Clapton’s prominent guitar work. Cream’s 1968 recording on Wheels of Fire became one of the most famous rock adaptations of a blues standard and helped cement the song’s place in rock and blues repertoires.
