Sway was written by Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltrán Ruiz, as the 1953 bolero-mambo ¿Quién será?, whose melody underlies the English-language version Sway with lyrics by Norman Gimbel. Originally written and recorded in Mexico, the tune became an international standard after Dean Martin’s 1954 English recording, and has since been interpreted by numerous pop and jazz artists including Michael Bublé. Sway remains a ballroom and pop standard, frequently used in films, television, and dance competitions, and is widely recorded in both its Spanish and English forms.
