by OneRepublic
Apologize was written by Ryan Tedder, written in 2006 and first released that year as OneRepublic's debut single, then widely issued in 2007 in Timbaland's remix version on his album Shock Value. Originally posted by OneRepublic on Myspace and then included on their debut album Dreaming Out Loud, the song was reworked by producer Timbaland, who added additional production elements and released it under his name featuring the band. The Timbaland–OneRepublic version became a global hit, topping charts in numerous countries, breaking U.S. radio airplay records for the Mainstream Top 40 at the time, and remaining one of the group's signature songs.
