Where Is My Mind? was written by Black Francis and first released by Pixies on their 1988 debut album Surfer Rosa. The song is an alternative rock track recorded in late 1987 in Boston, inspired by Francis’s surreal experience while snorkeling in the Caribbean. Where Is My Mind? later gained iconic status through its use over the closing scene of the 1999 film Fight Club and has since become Pixies’ signature song, widely covered and licensed for film, television and games.
