Bizet Sheet Music
About Bizet
Georges Bizet grew up in a musical family in Paris in the 19th century. His mother was a pianist, and his father was a singing teacher, so naturally Bizet began his musical career young. At the age of 10, the Paris Conservatoire accepted him, an unprecedented move for such a young musician. Despite studying under the gifted composer Charles Gounod, Bizet's many compositions were generally underappreciated in his lifetime, only becoming popular in the 20th century.
Georges Bizet (1838-1875) wrote works in a variety of musical styles, but he is most well-known for his operas. Nowadays, many consider his compositions to be original and brilliant thanks to his ability to write unforgettable melodies, expressive arias, and excellent orchestration. Alongside works like The Pearl Fishers and L'Arlésienne, he is recognised around the world for his 1875 opera Carmen. This four-act opéra comique is set in the south of Spain and this is reflected in the music: from the sultry Habanera to the wonderful Chanson Bohème, Bizet's music is packed full of passion, fire, and drama.
Tomplay offers a variety of Georges Bizet sheet music, including many pieces from the opera Carmen.
