by VanderCook
Vega was written by Hale A. VanderCook, as one of the Trumpet Stars cornet solos composed in the early 20th century. Vega is part of VanderCook’s pedagogical Trumpet Stars set, in which each solo for trumpet or cornet is named after a star or constellation and designed to build tone, phrasing and technique in young brass players. The Trumpet Stars series, including Vega, has remained in print and is still widely used in brass teaching studios, band programs and student solo contests.
